What’s most important to me, is my relationship with the individuals with whom I’m working. I am a counselling practicum student completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, working under the supervision of Rachel Weinstein, MA, RCC. I have completed Level II training in Lifespan Integration and am trained in Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy.

Before this I spent nearly twenty years in mental health research, much of it sitting with people through clinical assessments at some of the hardest points in their lives, and training others to do the same. Big emotions do not frighten me. If your history is complicated, or your reactions feel like too much, you are welcome here as you are.

What that work showed me was how much people need help making sense of what they have experienced — not just someone to measure it. I know something of that from my own life as well. Both are why I moved into counselling.

People come to counselling for all kinds of reasons — anxiety, grief, a relationship that keeps going sideways, a sense that something is off and has been for a while. You do not need a single, obvious event. I am especially interested in trauma and attachment, and in the long shadow that hard experiences can leave behind.

I prefer to work at your pace. We explore together, with curiosity rather than pressure, and we go only as far as feels right on a given day. You do not have to tell me everything for this to help. If we come to something that needs more time, we slow down — that is not a detour, that is the work.

I believe we each carry deep knowledge of what is right for us, and that much of our work together is learning how to listen for it. No two people are alike, and every person I have worked with has taught me something. My part is to pay close attention, so that together we can make new sense of your story. I would be honoured to hear it.
